Be guided by the 4 E’s – Cojuangco

COJUANGCO UPDATES

FORMER Fifth District Rep. Mark Cojuangco urged graduates of Pangasinan State University (PSU) batch 2015 “to never stop learning” and encouraged them to adopt the “4 E’s of Leadership” taught by a top American executive in order to succeed.

Speaking before an estimated 5,000 crowd at the CSI Stadia during PSU’s 36th Commencement Exercises on April 14, Cojuangco, who delivered an inspirational message quoted what John Francis “Jack” Welch Jr., former chairman and CEO of General Electric, taught.

Cojuangco, quoting Welch, said that to succeed, a person needs to adopt the 4 E’s as a formula to succeed in ones’ endeavors.

He said the 4 E’s is about having a positive Energy, being able to Energize others, to have an Edge and the ability to Execute.

Speaking from his own experience, he said “Without these Es, it’s hard to become a winner.”

Wikipedia said that in 2006, Welch’s net worth was estimated at $720 million. When he retired from GE he took a severance payment of $417 million, the largest such payment in history.

10- BE GUIDED

Former Pangasinan Fifth District Rep. Mark Cojuangco (middle) with Mayor Mark Roy Macanlalay share information on Pangasinan with Senate President Franklin Drilon during the 36th Commencement Exercises of the Pangasinan State University.

“Without your perseverance, investment of your time and hard work, you would not have succeeded in your chosen field. Today is your commencement exercises. It is not the end but it means the beginning,” Cojuangco said as he congratulated the graduates for doing their best to finish their studies.

He was joined by his known vice gubernatorial tandem for 2016 political exercise, Calasiao Mayor Mark Roy Macanlalay.

He said learning is a never-ending experience in life and he encouraged them to “never stop to absorb more knowledge”, saying that it will enable them to improve on their skills and expertise.

“Keep learning at whatever you choose to be” and “to listen to people who have wealth of wisdom they can share with you.”

The former congressman urged the graduates to have good values and to try to capture opportunities.

“You should inspire so you can work together in the same direction,“ adding that “what we can do alone is limited but what we can do together is limitless”.

He offered the advice that “in this competitive world, you must possess a different level of competence, skills and expertise which is a life-long pursuit,” but he stressed that “you must also stay humble”.

He exhorted them to always finish the job well that they have started.

The former congressman also congratulated the graduates’ parents and teachers for their vital contributions in making their children achieve their goal by ensuring they earn their diplomas.

“These graduates would not have been here today if not for your support,” he concluded.
