AFTER the successful staging of the cycling event last year during the celebration of Mapandan town fiesta, Mayor Maximo Calimlim, in partnership with sponsoring Excellent Noodles, will flag off its second edition on April 18 that will be dubbed this year as “2^nd BikeBakan ed Mapandan.

The race will start and finish across the municipal hall.

Race director Jazy Garcia said the bikefest will be ran in three categories, the ex-pro-amateur-master, grandmaster and the manager-woman’s divisions and will traverse the circuit course of Mapandan via Barangay Baloling, to Manaoag via Barangay Babasit and back to Mapandan via barangays San Ramon and Aserda, six times, with an approximate distance of 95 kilometers.

Some 70 cyclists are expected to participate for a chance to win cash prizes, trophies and medals. (JAG, Jr.)
