PSU celebrates Women’s Month

LINGAYEN – The Pangasinan State University (PSU) has lined up several activities for the celebration of the Women’s Month this March.

Dr. Dexter Buted ,PSU president, said the university has started holding activities in its nine  campuses, i.e., contests on poster-making, slogan-making, skit, dance and the song composition and rendition based on the theme “Juana, Desisyon Mo ay Mahalaga sa Kinabukasan ng Bawat Isa, Ikaw Na!”

A unity walk, medical and dental mission and Zumba dance were also part of the campus-wide celebrations and forums on anti- bullying, anti-violence against women, Magna Carta for women and breast cancer and  cervical cancer awareness were also conducted in the campuses.

Dr. Merlita Santos, focal director for the Gender and Development Division of PSU, said the university-wide activities will commence on March 11 until March 13.

A film showing of ‘Boses’ will be shown at the Sison Auditorium on March 11 followed by a Literary-Musical contest on March 12 where the first place winners in the campuses will compete for the provincial level.

On March 13, prominent women leaders will share their best practices and experiences to promote gender sensitivity and gender responsiveness. Guests will include Regional Director Teoticia Taguibao  of the  Commission on Higher Education, the four Congresswomen of Pangasinan and two lady mayors of the province. (PIA-Pangasinan)
