Navy detachment stays in Sual for 10 more years

LINGAYEN– The Philippine Navy- Naval Forces Northern Luzon’s (NFNL) detachment in Sual town will remain in the area for at least 10 years more.

The provincial board authorized Gov. Amado Espino Jr. to enter into a memorandum of agreement with the Philippine Navy NFNL, represented by Commodore Severino Vicente David, for the continued use of a real property owned by the province of Pangasinan located in Sual, Pangasinan.

The NFNL based in Poro Point, La Union maintains a detachment in Sual to assist other government agencies in the enforcement of maritime laws in the territorial seas of Pangasinan and Zambales and also conduct water search and rescue trainings for the locals. It also serves as quarters for the NFNL personnel in charge of the maintenance of Navy ships. (Johanne Macob PNA)
