Mark C. – Just three years to show the difference

COJUANGCO UPDATES

FORMER Fifth District Rep. Mark Cojuangco said he wants to give deeper meaning and purpose to his life by serving and helping the people of Pangasinan.

Speaking to residents of Laoac town during their recent town fiesta celebration, Cojuangco said he was given a “privileged life” with successful family enterprise, material possessions and happy marriage.

But he said material wealth would be meaningless if he can’t help his fellowmen.

He told his audience that he was lucky that in his first term as congressman, having four rivals then in the election, he got 90 percent of the votes. In his second term, he still garnered more than 90 percent votes and in his third term, he was unopposed with about 98 percent votes.

Former Fifth

Former Fifth district Rep. Cojuangco with wife, Rep. Kimi Cojuangco enjoy the hospitality accorded them during the recent town fiesta celebration.

“To me this means that I succeeded in delivering services to the people,” he said.

He said he believes he could bring the same brand of service to the whole province of Pangasinan and this prompted him to present himself as an alternative to the gubernatorial post in 2016.

Cojuangco had announced his gubernatorial bid in February 2014.

The congresswoman

The congresswoman also poses for posterity with her constituents in Laoac and the former congressman.

He believes he has enough experience and leadership skills that would make him a good leader of the province when the next elections come.

“Give us three years to show the kind of services we could give you,” he said that elicited a warm applause of approval from the crowd.

In the same event, he also presented his partner in delivering service, Calasiao Mayor Mark Roy Macanlalay who is eyeing the vice gubernatorial post.

“If you will help me, maximize it please by supporting also my partner,” referring to Calasiao Mayor Mark roy Macanlalay. That again was welcomed by the crowd.

Mayor Boying

Mayor Boying Alarcio and Calasiao Mayor Mark Roy Macanlalay take to the dance floor.

Cojuangco, with his wife Rep. Kimi Cojuangco whom he described as his one and only beloved, and Macanlalay were accorded warm welcome by town officials led by Mayor Silverio “Boying” Alarcio and Vice Mayor Rogeio Godoy.

Meanwhile, Cojuangco said in the same forum that his wife’s office has coordinated with the Department of Public Works and Highways for the widening of Tagamusing River. He added that the bridge along the national highway that crosses Tagamusing River in Sumabnit in Binalonan will be extended by about 20 to 30 meters at the side of Urdaneta adding that they plan to have the river widened.

When this is finished, he said there will be no more flooding in D. Alarcio, sitio Paitan, Cabilaoan, Caringayan and Nambagatan.

The water that overflows at the highway during heavy rain shall be stopped, too, he added. “This is one project that needs to be done,” he said.
