Fish producers set to meet here
NATIONAL FISH CONGRESS
LINGAYEN –The province will host a 3-day national congress for fish producers aimed at enhancing production at the Sison Auditorium here on April 27-29, this year.
Eduardo Maramba, president of the Philippine Fish Producers Association, Inc., said “innovative aquaculture practices that will contribute to the economic wealth of the country will be the focus of the congress.”
Congress Theme is “Enhancing Aquaculture Practices for Sustained Industry Development.”
Gov. Amado Espino Jr. and Mayor Josefina Castaneda will join Maramba and Fishpond Owners Operators Association Inc. (Foofadci) officers led by Chairman Alfredo Dawana in welcoming the participants.
A battery of speakers led by former Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr., Senators Cynthia Villar, chair of the Agriculture Committee, and Ferdinand Marcos Jr; Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas have been invited to discuss the issues with participants.
Other resource persons invited are PAFPI Vice President Tomas Alcantara, Bureau of Aquatic Resources Director Nelson Lopez, DA Usec. Asis Perez, BFAR Regional Director Nestor Domenden, DTI officials and Engr. Ric Dela Cruz.
The organization of PAFPI was initiated by Dagupan City-based FOOFADCI, which was organized four years ago to maximize fish production in Dagupan City, with Dawana and Ramon Santillan at the helm.
