Excellent team riders rule 2nd Ronda Alaminos

TEAM Excellent with riders all from Metro Manila made history in Pangasinan cycling road race by landing in the top five positions of the 2nd Ronda Alaminos bikefest held on March 15.

Spearheaded by veteran Anecito Juanio and Resty Aragon finishing first and second, respectively, the duo clocked the 105-kilometer flat and hilly course in three hours, six minutes and 38 seconds outdistancing third placer Richard Labine by 37 seconds. 2015 Laoac Cycling Challenge winner Alfie Tangzo and Manuel Mendoza came in fourth and fifth, two minutes adrift the winner.

Rounding up the top ten were: Benjie Nituan of Binalonan, Joel Balucos of Manila, Loreto Mandi of Gerona, Oscar Espiritu of San Manuel, and Benigno Molina of Mangaldan.

Danny Ogoy of Natividad, outsprinted 1986 Marlboro Tour champion Rolando Pagnanawon to win the grandmaster category while Noel Bonzo captured the 52.5-kilometer manager class outsprinting hometown rider Antonio Romano and Rod Carolino of Dagupan City. Lingayen lass Shen Versoza ruled the women’s group.

The bikefest’s second edition, staged during the celebration of Alaminos City fiesta, was a project of Vice Mayor Earl James “Jing” Aquino, was sponsored by Excellent Noodles of Alex Billan .( JAG, Jr.)
