Dagupan teams bag gold, silver in basketball

THE elementary level boys team of the Dagupan City delegation bagged the gold medal in its conquest of the Pangasinan II squad, 90-76, in the recently concluded Region 1 Athletic Meet, at Manaoag.
While the Dagupan City secondary level boys and girls quintets settled for silver medals after they lost to defending champion Batac City, 78-82, and by Pangasinan II, 68-96, respectively.
Dagupan City delegation athletic general manager Edilberto R. Abalos said it was the first time for the city’s three basketball teams to reach the championship stages.
The teams’ successful efforts were attributed to the participation of the players’ school teams in the annual Dep-Ed’s Development Basketball League. (Philamer Celi)
