24 HOURS OF PRAYER

THE Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan will open the 24 Hours of Prayer at 6:00 am on March 13 to end at 6:00 am on March 14 in response to the call made by Pope Francis on all bishops all over the world to observe on the said dates as 24 Hours of Prayer with the theme “God rich in mercy”.

Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas said at the website of the archdiocese (www.rcald.org) dated March 1 that the Blessed Sacrament will be on solemn exposition for 24 hours accompanied by the hearing of confessions in the same church.

It will open with a Mass on March 13 and close with a Mass the following day, he said.

Catholic schools in the archdiocese will be assigned to adore during the class hours while lay organizations and Basic Ecclesial Communities may be assigned the late night hours.

The adoration churches per vicariate are the Santuario de San Juan in Dagupan City, Epiphany of the Lord Parish in Lingayen, Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Manaoag, Saint Dominic Parish in San Carlos City and Saint Vincent Ferrer in Bayambang.

The “24 Hours for the Lord” is a yearly event set for the fourth Friday and Saturday of Lent which began in 2014 under the auspices of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization. (Tita Roces)
