NFA launches Rice Loan program
THE National Food Authority (NFA) Western Pangasinan Branch is set to sign a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Local Government Units (LGUs) that will enable LGUs to purchase rice on credit from NFA whether for relief operations or for stockpiling for distribution during relief operations or for their rehabilitation project/program during the lean months.
The Rice Loan Program for LGUs is designed to cushion the impact of calamities that may hit the country and ensure that that they have priority access to NFA rice for its immediate relief distribution operations.
The price of rice shall be based on the NFA Consumers’ Price as indicated in the latest Selling Price Bulletin (SPB). The MOA is renewable yearly and / or until the end of term of the concerned LGU. For more details, please contact NFA-Lingayen with tel. nos. 542-4154 and 542-4366.
