COJUANGCO UPDATES

THE Lyceum Northern Luzon (LNL) in Urdaneta City celebrated its 21st founding anniversary with a tribute to parents titled “Parangal sa mga Magulang” and praised former Fifth District Rep. Mark Cojuangco for his dedication to his job that led to remarkable changes in the district.

Dr. Mariano M. Gandia, LNL president, lauded the parents who joined the celebration to be recognized for their sacrifices in sending their children to their school.

Gandia also lauded Cojuangco and described him as kind, industrious, helpful to many students by providing them with scholarships and “because almost all his time, he spent in the district so we saw change”, which elicited applause from the audience.

The LNL president urged the students, parents, faculty and visitors “to support our good congressman in his objectives in the future, in his vision for the entire province because he, to my belief, would be the next governor of Pangasinan”.

He also sought support for Calasiao Mayor Mark Roy Macanlalay whom he described as young, courageous, brilliant partner of the former congressman.

Cojuangco has made known publicly his intent to run as alternative candidate for governor in Pangasinan in 2016 elections with Calasiao Mayor Mark Roy Macanlalay as his tandem.

Former Fifth District Rep. Mark Cojuangco gamely poses for posterity with happy students of Lyceum Northern Luzon in Urdaneta City. Lower photo shows Dr. Mariano M. Gandia, president of LNL, thanking the congressman for his initaitives in the district.

The former three-term congressman, in turn, commended Gandia’s dedication as a leader of an educational institution pushing for quality education in Urdaneta City through the LNL.

He remembered how, unlike other people, Gandia heeded his request to provide space for road widening project he initiated in Urdaneta City by giving up a five-meter lot space in front of said school. “But he is different because he donated a lot of the university to the government for free to provide space for walkway,” Cojuangco said.

He said he will never forget the good example Gandia had shown  that is worth emulating by the students and for being a role model in Urdaneta and in the country.

He said if others would follow Gandia’s lead, “our road widening project would have been long finished, that would clear the way for traffic and pedestrians and further improve the city”.

Meanwhile, as he has been doing for one year now, Cojuangco introduced himself to the audience, his qualities and capabilities that fit him to become a good governor of Pangasinan.

He also stressed on the provision of employment to the people and the need for investors to come which can be realized through improved infrastructures, end to flooding and having a friendly government.

He took note of the sacrifices of the parents in educating their children for a better future which is consistent with his vision to provide employment not in remote areas but right here in Pangasinan. He said he is working harder to provide more scholarships for students in LNL and in other schools.

Cojuangco also told the crowd how he had been the subject of black propaganda made by some people for one year already after he had announced his gubernatorial bid since February last year.

He said he chose to reside, live and serve Pangasinan since 1967 and was voted three terms as congressman.

” I can proudly say I am from Pangasinan because I chose to be in Pangasinan because I love Pangasinan,” he said that was applauded again by the people.

He said he finds real purpose of his life by serving the people, adding that,  “I want to serve the province,  I want to share my blessings to my provincemates and improve Pangasinan”
