TWO persons were and two others were injured when a Toyota sedan and a Mitsubishi Montero figured in a head-on collision along the national highway in Barangay Caranglaan, Dagupan City at about 1:00 a.m. on January 22.

The fatalities were identified by the police as one Willy Agsaoay, 42, a former Overseas Filipino Worker, from Barangay Tebag West, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan, driver of the Toyota sedan, and Edison Meneses, 21, a dentistry student, who was sitting beside Agsaoay, also of Barangay Tebag West, Sta. Barbara.

Injured and rushed to the Villaflor Memorial Hospital were Jeoffrey Agpalasin, another occupant of the ill-fated sedan; and Mark Patrick Jacinto, driver of the Mitsubishi Montero.

Investigation showed the accident happened  when Agsaoay and his companions were going home to Sta. Barbara, while the Mitsubishi Montero was moving at a fast clip from the opposite direction.

The Toyota sedan was a complete wreck and it took the police and those from the City Disaster REisk and Reduction Management Office about an hour to extricate the victims from the ill-fated car.

Meanwhile, the  Mitsubishi Montero was damaged in its front and its driver walked out from the vehicle visibly hurt.
