THE brightest and most talented Pangasinan students recently had a face-off in the annual inter-school competition organized by Pangasinense students of the University of the Philippines Subol Society (UPSS)-Diliman and Baguio chapters last January 8-9.

Dubbed as “Padunungan,” the event serves as an avenue for students in Pangasinan to meet and raise their awareness and appreciation of their province and its languages and culture, and to promote excellence in academics and the arts.

It showcased on-the-spot competitions on poem writing, essay writing (English and Pangasinan), poster making; and contests on debate, folk dance, impromptu speaking, poem recital, poster-cum-slogan making, quiz show, and singing (Pangasinan songs).

Elementary and high school students from 55 schools from the province participated in the two-day activity. (PIA)
