More crimes but still generally peaceful

The Pangasinan Provincial Police Office maintains the province is still generally peaceful and under control even if the number of crimes committed from December 16, 2014 to January 4, 2015 compared to the same period of 2013 to 2014 increased.

With the exception of murder and robbery cases, the statistics of other criminalities increased: physical injuries from 272 to 399 cases, homicide cases from 10 to 16, rape cases from 9 to 18, carjacking from 6 to 14 and violation of special laws from 95 to 107.

Murder cases decreased from 11 to eight, robbery from 42 to 27, and theft from 128 to 120.

There were 1, 351 crime incidents reported of which 441 were against persons, 165 were against properties and 745 were non-index crimes.
