LINGAYEN– The 412 police personnel from Pangasinan that joined the implementation of the security plan as part of the augmentation force for the duration of the Papal visit last week returned to their units shortly after Pope Francis had departed.

Pangasinan Provincial Police Office (PPPO) led by OIC- provincial director P/ Sr. Supt. Reynaldo Biay, welcomed them home late night Monday after Pope Francis had departed mid-morning.

“We are proud of them,” Biay said of the 412 policemen.
He said despite the hectic and stressful activities, the policemen were notably in high morale and happy to have been part of the historic undertaking.

“Their moral and spiritual values were strengthened. They are more inspired now,” Biay said of the policemen headed by company commander P/Supt. Bryan Demot.

As an incentive, Biay said the policemen were given days off to rest and prepare for the implementation of the gun ban that took effect last Thursdeay.

The Pangasinan contingent represented 20% of the total Pangasinan police force. (Johanne R. Macob/PNA)
