Eight teams advance to quarterfinals

SEAOIL-NBTC ELITE LEAGUE

EIGHT out of fifteen secondary school teams hurdled their assignments in their respective groups in the single round robin eliminations and advanced to the quarterfinals round as hostilities in the 2014-2015 Seaoil-NBTC (National Basketball Training Center) Elite League resume today, January 18, at 8 a.m., DWAD Gym.

The new groups are: Group E – Divine Word Academy of Dagupan (DWAD), Federico N. Ceralde Integrated School (FNCIS), St. Michael School by the Sea (SMSS), and La Marea Academy (LMA). Group F – Lyceum Northwestern University FQD (LNU-FQD), Pangasinan Universal Institute (PUI), Dagupan City National High School (DCNHS), and St. Albert the Great School (SAGS).

The games today are: DWAD vs. LMA; DCNHS vs. SAGS; PUI vs. LNU-FQD; FNCIS vs. SMSS. On Saturday, January 24, at 8 a.m., PUI Gym, the games are: PUI vs SAGS; DWAD vs SMSS; FNCIS vs LMA, and DCNHS vs LNU-FQD.

Elite League city commissioner DepED Education Program Supervisor Edilberto R. Abalos said the winners in the semi-final games will play for the championship on Wednesday, January 28.

The emerging city champion teams will face each other in one championship game against the champion team of the Tarlac edition of the Elite League which will be held on February 7, here in Dagupan City. –(Philamer C. Celi)
