LINGAYEN– The Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of the capital town held its first legislative forum to “bring the government closer to the people.”

Held on December 8, 2014 at the Chatanoga Grill and Restobar, the legislative forum gathered various sectors in the municipality.

“The forum has two purposes, (1) for us legislators to report what we have done so far and (2) to solicit new ideas from the people to aid us in legislation,” said Councilor Jay Mark Crisostomo.

One of the suggestions presented was the need to put up an electronic billboard in the town proper and help minimize posting of tarpaulins and streamers that have become eyesores.

Representatives of various sectors as youth, educator, legal, market, and senior citizens participated in the forum.
Meanwhile, Crisostomo, the chairman of the SB committee on market, said his proposal for a P25,000 goodwill fee for each stall remains because it follows the spirit of the ordinance that provided for an increase every five years. The P5,000 fee has not changed since 1990. (Johanne Macob)
