DASOL— Never stop a man from singing because it could be hazardous to your health.

A painter found this out too late when he was hacked dead by his elder brother after a spat over the use of a videoke machine inside their house around 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 30 in Barangay Malacapas here.

The fatality was Alvin Abella, 39, and was hacked with a bolo by Norman Abella, 43, who reportedly is suffering from a mental illness.

Alvin reportedly tried to stop Norman from singing and using the videoke system because they didn’t have enough to pay their electric bill.

This angered the suspect who grabbed an 18 ½ inch long bolo and allegedly hacked his brother in the neck.

The victim was rushed by barangay officials to the Dasol Community Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The suspect fled but was later arrested by responding police personnel in a hot pursuit operation and recovered the weapon used. (Tita Roces)
