LINGAYEN — Girls Scout of the Philippines (GSP) National President Salud Bagalso cited GSP Pangasinan Council for being a “consistent top-producer of Chief Girl Scout medalists in the country.”

“You have produced a number of girl scouts who became great leaders and movers in their respective fields and industries,” Dr. Bagalso said during the 65th Anniversary celebration of GSP Pangasinan Council held on December 2 at the Sison Auditorium as she added that GSP Pangasinan is ‘among the strongest and most-admirable councils in the country.’

This year, 63 chief Girl Scout medalists from Pangasinan were recently cited by the National GSP.

GSP Pangasinan Council President Perla Cornel said that girls and young women in Pangasinan learn to appreciate simple and basic things in life and later stand on their own to become responsible citizens through the Girl Scout Movement.

Elated over the citation received by the province, Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr., exhorted some 1,007 GSP field advisers, scout chiefs, chief girl scouts and school heads from the six congressional districts of the province to put premium on ‘public service.’

“Public service is the best service, and we have proven it (in the provincial government),” Espino said. (PIO)
