DA Capitol set to launch agri program

LINGAYEN – The provincial government of Pangasinan, together with the Department of Agriculture (DA), will soon implement the Philippine Rural Development Program to further enhance the agricultural sectors in the province.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan here passed a resolution authorizing Governor Amado Espino, Jr. to ink pacts with DA Secretary Proceso Alcala for the purpose of effective implementation and management of various projects in the province under the rural development program.

The resolution, proposed by Board Members Danilo Uy and Liberato Villegas, said agreement will serve as a vehicle for collaboration efforts of the DA and the provincial government.

Philippine Rural Development Program is a poverty reduction program of DA that aims to improve the income and food security of rural poor and indigenous communities in the country. (PIA)
