Cache of guns, ammos, shabu found in lovers’ house

BAYAMBANG—A cache of firearms, ammunition and shabu were seized in a raid by police and anti-drug agents in the house of a barangay kagawad and her live-in partner in Barangay Bical here last Wednesday, Dec. 3.

Seized from Barangay Kagawad Cecilia Brenott, 49 and Edwin Bacalso, 33, businessman, both from Barangay Bical, were 300 pieces live ammunition for caliber 5.56, 87 pieces live ammunition for caliber M14, 63 pieces live ammunition for caliber .30 carbine, 40 pieces live ammunition for caliber 12 shotgun, 41 pieces for caliber .22, eight pieces magazine assembly for caliber 5.56 , one piece magazine assembly for caliber 5.56 , two pieces fired cartridge case for caliber .12 shotgun, two pieces fired cartridge case for caliber .45, two pieces fired cartridge case for caliber. M14, two fired cartridge case for caliber .30 carbine, two pieces fired cartridge case for caliber 5.56 and four artillery boxes.

The two raids were conducted based on search warrants for firearms and ammunition issued by Presiding Judge Renato Pinlac of Regional Trial Court Branch 57 in San Carlos City this province.

Two other separate search warrants for illegal drugs yielded one piece heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu, 21 pieces small transparent plastic sachets with visible residues of shabu, one digital weighing scale, six pieces of disposable plastic lighter and 15 strips of aluminum foil in assorted cuts and sizes.

The arrested live-in partners are lodged at the town police station jail while charges against them are being prepared for filing in court. (Tita Roces)
