Teen and senior make cycling history

NINETEEN year-old Shane Verzosa of Lingayen and 63 year-old Peter Camacho of Binmaley made cycling history in Pangasinan by winning the first ‘Ride in Tandem’ bikefest organized by the Dagupan City Cycling Club organized last October 18.

Verzosa and Camacho clocked the short 9.7-kilometer loop along the Judge Jose de Venecia Sr. Boulevard Extension in 15 minutes and 49 seconds to bag the gold medal plus an incentive cash prize, defeating 26 tandem participants.

Nol Espino and Ben Quinto came in second place 17 ticks off the pace while Wilfredo Martinez and Mac Ferreria landed third 36 seconds behind the winners. Libid Adavan and Rey Adavan finished fourth, right behind them in fifth place were Nikko Almendarez and Rudy del Rosario. “Most Elegant Cyclist” was Engr. Rodolfo Dion while ‘Most Improved Rider” was Mario Mamahon. (JAG Jr.)
