Before the talent show formally started, the giant Christmas tree was lighted by Pangasinan First Lady Priscilla I. Espino, Board Member Amado “Pogi” Espino III, Provincial Administrator Rafael Howard F. Baraan, and some provincial department heads.

The provincial administrator said that the giant Christmas tree symbolizes the rich resources of Pangasinan as it characterizes the values and traditions of the province being a peaceful community.

The meaning of Christmas, according to Baraan, is love and unity. He called on Pangasinenses to be united in purpose in bringing more glory to the province.

During the night, spectators were treated to a full entertainment show which featured various talents from Luzon in three categories to include kantahan (singing), sayawan (dancing), and kakaibang-talento (unique talent).

Robosa is a product of Takayan na Dayew, a singing contest launched by the provincial government under the term of Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr., when he won as champion in 2009.

Robosa will compete in the Grand Finals of the “Bet ng Bayan” which will be aired live on GMA-7.
For kakaibang-talento, two talented young men showcased their talents in puppetry and contortion respectively.

Jason Ivan Sobremonte of Benguet amazed the audience with his world-class contortion moves sweeping the semi-final slot in the end.

Highlights of the well-attended event include the remarkable performance of the University of Luzon Drum and Bugle Corps as well as the participation of the Pangasinan Provincial Chorale and the Pangasinan Dangoan dancers.

The taped episode will be telecast nationwide at GMA network on December 7 at 9:20 p.m. /rrb
