Police officers cited for exemplary performance
LINGAYEN- For conspicuous acts of heroism and courage, eleven policemen detailed at the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) received the Medal of Heroism (Medalya ng Kadakilaan) from the Philippine National Police regional office last week.
The awardees are: P/SSupt. Benjamin Hulipas, P/SSupt. Reynaldo Biay, P/Supt. Rodolfo Castro, P/Supt. Ferdinand de Asis, P/Insp. Ernie Cruz, PO1 Nikko Andrew Evangelista, P/SSupt. Sterling Raymund Blanco, P/Supt. Marlon Canam, P/Supt. Jackson Seguin, P/CInsp. Benjamin Ariola and PO2 Benedick Cruz.
PSupt. Christopher Abrahano, chief of Dagupan City Police Station was awarded the Merit Medal (Medalya ng Kagalingan).
The awardees were cited for “their conspicuous acts of heroism and invaluable service rendered through the conduct of checkpoints, Oplan Sita, Oplan Katok, Arrest of Wanted Persons, Service of Search and Warrants and the campaign against illegal drugs and loose firearms during the four- month implementation of task force Salakob from June 14 to October 13 that resulted in anti-criminality campaign with improved peace and order”.
PPPO ranks third in the country with the highest number of apprehended loose firearms at 142. Number of arrested wanted persons notably increased from 396 last year to 448 this year while shooting incidents decreased to 85 from 118 last year from June to October.
The number of arrested drug pushers also increased from 142 last year to 243 this year while arrested wanted persons increased to 448 this year from 396 last year. (HMA/PNA)
