Name your ‘Pinablin Dagupeños’
THE search is on for the Ten ‘Pinablin Dagupeños’ in time for the annual celebration of the Agew na Dagupan on June 20 next year.
Mayor Belen T. Fernandez listed the qualifications for your nominees:
- Must have distinguished himself/herself in public service, business, the humanities, creative arts, or in the profession he/she practices or the avocation he/she follows.
- If he/she distinguished himself/herself outside Dagupan City, his/her accomplishments or achievements must have provided the city or its people “some direct palpable benefit”.
- If your nominee is Dagupan-born, he/she should have been a resident of Dagupan for at least one third of his/her life and if the nominee is not a Dagupan born, he/she should be a resident of Dagupan for at least 40 years.
- Your nominee must have led an exemplary public and private life; he/she was never involved at one time or another in any crime, misdemeanor, scandal, anomaly or irregularity of a public or private nature; he/she must not have been at one time or another a member of any subversive or outlawed organization or any organization that practiced, fostered, advocated or engaged in any subversive, obscene, indecent or immoral doctrines.
She warned that your nominee:
- Must not have solicited nor caused through other persons the solicitation of the awards being conferred upon him/her and that he/she must not have previously been conferred awards of any kind in Dagupan City for the same distinction for which he/she is now being honored.
- Is not related by affinity or consanguinity to the third civil degree to any members of the awarding committee or given any reward, consideration, remuneration, or compensation of any kind to a member of the awarding committee on matters not related to the awards.
- Is not an incumbent official in the government service shall be entitled to the award.
The nominator can nominate more than one or more Dagupeños from any of the following fields: Medicine, Education, Community Service, Public Service, Public Administration, Science/Technology, Heritage/Culture and Arts, Mass Media/Communication, Law Enforcement/Military Service and Business and Entrepreneurship.
Nomination forms are available which shall be submitted along with the other required technical evidences at the Culture and Arts office at the city museum not later than December 15. (CIO-Joseph Bacani)
