Pangasinan, the best to live in — Espino
LOS ANGELES, California — “Pangasinan is the best place to invest, the best place to work, the best place to live in and the best place to raise a family”.
This is capsule was the message of Gov. Amado T Espino, Jr. to his provincemates who attended the kick-off and orientation dinner of the International Street Fair and Diversity Festival held last October 4 in the City of Artesia.
He told his audience that Pangasinan has been a recipient of regional and national awards in the different fields of endeavors calling it a clear recognition of the accomplishments of his administration.
Instead of resting on his laurels, he said that the awards have motivated him to work harder as “there is still a need to steadily work day and night to realize his vision for the province.
Espino is on the last leg of his term. He has endorsed his son and namesake, Board Member and president of the Pangasinan Federation of Liga ng mga
Barangay Amado “Pogi” Espino III as his possible successor. His former ally, former Fifth District Rep. Mark Cojuangco is making a bid as well.
Introduced by Pangasinan Brotherhood-USA President Ed Caguioa Ferrer, the governor took the occasion to pay tribute to his fellow US-based Pangasinenses who reached out to their kababayans back home in assisting them in exploring new opportunities.
He also thanked the members and officers of the PB-USA for sharing and promoting the present provincial administration’s advocacy for the economic development of the province.
“As the outside world has opened the doors for trade and commerce for our local producers, we are also steadily opening our doors for tourism and investment opportunities,” Espino said.
Reached for comment, a PB-USA member who asked not be identified said “the Governor Espino’s speech has the makings of ‘State of the Province Address’ the only difference is that the venue is thousands of miles away from the province’s capital town of Lingayen.”
The governor was accompanied by Vice-Governor Ferdinand Z Calimlim Jr, three members of the provincial board, some department heads and office staff. (Leonardo J Galvez, USA Correspondent)
