Pangasinan cuisine takes center stage in SM City Rosales
SM City Rosales celebrated the diversity and rich tradition of Pangasinan cooking during the book launch of ‘My City, My SM, My Cuisine Book.’
The event highlighted Pangasinan’s tradition of community cuisine which has given rise to the many food festivals that are celebrated in the province. Among those featured were Bangus Festival, Talong Festival, and Bagoong Festival.
Food stations featured Pangasinan delicacies like Alaminos longanissa, tapa, pigar-pigar, bagoong, tupig, puto Calasiao, different bangus dishes, i.e., kilawing Bangus, bangus shanghai, bangus in lettuce wrap, etc. and other seafood that included baked mussels, sinigang na hipon, rellenong crab.
Buttered crab, the heirloom recipe of Mr. Gerry Austria of Matutina Restaurant; Pinaputok na Tilapia, a family recipe of Mdm. Priscilla Espino, the governor’s wife, and Bangus Risotto, recipe of Vice Mayor Brian Lim.
The book, published by People Asia, is a compilation of both winning and participating recipes from the My City, My SM, My Cuisine campaign in 2011 to 2013 in key cities around the Philippines.
