SIXTEEN feeding centers intended to cater to some 800 malnourished children were opened on October 1 simultaneously to mark the launching of the Alagang Balon Dagupan Supplementary Feeding Program.

The feeding program has been made possible by Rep. Gina De Venecia who obtained P1.6 million fund from the Department of Social Services and Development (DSWD) to bankroll the feeding program, upon the request of Mayor Belen Fernandez to help severely malnourished children regain their normal weight.

City Social Welfare and Development head Leah Aquino said the project involves mothers of the children-beneficiaries in the preparation of the meals in a centralized kitchen and in maintaining order and cleanliness.

The feeding program will serve children in barangays Bonuan Binloc, Bonuan Gueset, Bonuan Boquig, Lucao, Pantal, Malued, Mayombo, Calmay, Carael and Bolosan wfor 120 days. (CIO)
