Pangasinan Provincial Chorale, finalist in gov’t contest

LINGAYEN – The Pangasinan Provincial Chorale (PPC) is a grand finalist in the government chorale competition sponsored by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) as part of the agency’s 114th anniversary this September.

The PPC, composed of 23 employees of the provincial government, will compete against seven other chorale groups in the country on September 30 at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (Main Theatre) of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

Grand finalists include: Dasmarinas City Teachers’ Chorale, Ilocos Norte High School Chamber Singers, PPC (Luzon); Calbayog City Chorale (Visayas); Bayugan City Division Choir (Mindanao); City Government of Makati Employees Chorale, PAGCOR Voice Symphony; and PAG-IBIG Fund Chorale (NCR).

PPC, organized in October 2008 by Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. to the revival of classic Pangasinan songs, under the supervision of Human Resource Management and Development Officer Janet Asis. PPC Consultant Conductor Joy Nilo, Secretary of Philippine Choral Directors’ Association (PCDA), said “PPC has what it takes to win.” (PIO-MGNO)
