Thousands of overseas foreign workers (OFWs) repatriated from Syria, Iraq, Libya and Israel were given a fresh start as the provincial government of Pangasinan in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) conducted a two-day special jobs fair on September 12 and 13 in Lingayen here.

The two-day activity which was conducted through the Migration and Development Council Secretariat of the Provincial Employment Service Office (PESO) is in support with DOLE’s Assist WELL (Welfare, Employment, Livelihood, Legal) program.

Pangasinan PESO chief Alex F. Ferrer said the event has also included an orientation activity on the first day which is exclusively for the repatriated workers. This, according to him, is in coordination with the Overseas Workers Welfare Association (OWWA), the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and DOLE.

Job openings consisted of local and overseas employments which were mostly of free placements. /RRB
