Mangaldan cyclist tops DCCC short race

TOUR veteran Joshua Cariño of Mangaldan used his international exposure to top the short Dagupan City Cycling Club 9.7 kilometers individual-time-trial race open category held at Judge Jose de Venecia, Sr. highway recently.

Cariño, 21, fresh from a Europe trip and now a mainstay of continental team Standard Insurance clocked the distance in 13 minutes and 33 seconds followed by amateur rider 20 year-old Ryan Bravo of Lingayen just 26 ticks behind. Ex-professional Renier Clauna of Bugallon finished third 42 seconds adrift Cariño.

Team Lingayen bagged the team honor while Mayombo Velo Express finished second and Jaguar powered by DCCC president Ricky Diocares landed third place.

Medals and incentive cash prizes were awarded to all the winners handed by Engr. Rodolfo Dion of DPWH. The categorized event lured 76 cyclists and exclusively for Pangasinenses. JAG, Jr.
