FIFTY indigent couples in this city exchanged their marriage vows in a civil ceremony solemnized by Mayor Belen Fernandez last September 24 at the Colegio de Dagupan.

Present at the ceremony were Colegio de Dagupan President Dr. Voltaire Arzadon, Vice President on Academic Affairs Dr. Feliza Arzadon-Sua, City Election Officer Atty. Ericson Oganiza, City Population Officer Alex de Venecia, Pantal Punong Barangay Julie Ann Perez, Student Affairs head Irene Tadeo and other university officials.

The couples were provided free marriage license and pre-marriage counseling certificate courtesy of the City Population Office and Civil Registry Office and a reception to celebrate their union.

Colegio de Dagupan sponsored the mass wedding as part of its corporate social responsibility and provided the wedding venue, reception, and Certificates of No Marriage (CENOMAR) to the couples.

Arzadon said the university, along with other members of the local academe, will continue to coordinate with the local government in organizing other social programs and activities. (CIO-Patrick Cendreda)
