SPES summer jobbers receive final paychecks

LINGAYEN – The 100 students hired by the provincial government as summer jobbers for the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), received their remaining remuneration for the services they have rendered from April 14 to May 14.

Led by DOLE Regional Director Grace Y. Ursua and PESO Manager Alex Ferrer, the students’ salaries were handed to the students on August 19 completed a 20-day work in various departments of the provincial government during the summer season.

Each check worth P3, 272, representing part of the remaining 40 percent shouldered by DOLE, was in addition to the of P4, 909 paid in May by the provincial government representing its 60 percent counterpart in the program.

Each summer jobber received a total of P8,181.80 for the complete duration of their working period last summer.

Ursua congratulated the students for becoming productive citizens and Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. participating in the project aimed at helping the Pangasinan students who belong to low income households. (PIO/ADV)
