Pangasinan tops most number of voters validated

By August 10, 2014News, News Briefs

IF elections were held today, the province with have the most number of validated voters in the country.

This became evident after 46, 247 Pangasinenses completed their biometric data since the Commission on Election (Comelec) started its voters registration and validation last May 6.

However, the Comelec provincial office views it as a short-lived success noting the declining number of voters trooping in its office.

From the weekly average of 4, 000 voters in the city and municipal election offices until the third week of July, the number declined to 3, 500 on the fourth week.

Lawyer Marino Salas, provincial election officer, reiterated the call for voters with incomplete biometric data or those who registered without their pictures and signatures taken by Comelec, to complete their registration in their respective election offices.

The total number of voters with still incomplete biometric data in Pangasinan is still 325, 000. (Hilda M. Austria)
