Lingayen—More homeless government employees will benefit from the upcoming development of the Villa Maniboc Socialized Housing Phase II Project of the provincial government in coordination with the National Housing Authority (NHA) and Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF).

In the regular session held last June 30, the provincial board unanimously approved Provincial Resolution No. 636-2014 which authorizes Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. to enter into a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) for the revised PAG-IBIG housing loan program for government employees.

Engr. Alvin Bigay, Provincial Urban Housing and Development Council chief, said that the project will benefit 134 homeless government workers who will qualify to avail of the housing loan.

Bigay said the construction of the second phase housing project which is situated adjacent with the 257-unit Villa Maniboc Socialized Housing Phase 1 will benefit not only the provincial government employees but public school teachers and uniformed personnel provided that they meet the requirements needed to avail of the housing loan.

The Phase II project will be developed in the remaining 1.8 hectare lot of the total 5.5 hectares parcel of land which was declared and reserved under Presidential Proclamation No. 499 as development site for socialized housing. The 3.2 hectares was earlier developed as the site of the Phase 1.

The housing chief disclosed that permanent employees will rank among the priorities but casual and contractual employees may also avail provided that they are regular PAG-IBIG members.

In the case of contractual employees, they must become members of PAG-IBIG first in order to qualify. /RRB
