Mayor Belen awards 1,000 scholarships

THE city government, through its Building the Future program of Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Pangasinan Association of Private Technical Vocational Institution (PAPTVI), awarded 1,000 vocational scholarships last April 25 as part of the Bangus Festival 2014 at the CSI Stadia.

City Social Welfare and Development Officer-In-Charge Leah L. Aquino said her office chose the beneficiaries from among the “poorest of the poor.”

TESDA Provincial Director Manuel Wong said the scholars can choose any vocational course in any TESDA-accredited school in Dagupan City where they will get free tuition fee, training fee and assessment fee.

Mayor Fernandez thanked TESDA and PAPTVI for supporting her BTF Program pointing out that providing education and livelihood are among the top priorities of her administration. (CIO)
