MANGALDAN—The police here have organized a volleyball clinic for junior students of the Mangaldan National High School (MNHS) dubbed as “Pulis Ko, Kalaro Ko”.

P/Supt. Jackie Candelario, chief of the town police station, said the activity, a project of the police provincial office (PPO) with Mangaldan as pilot area, is a means of reaching out to the youth and providing them with an activity during the summer vacation.

“The volleyball clinic is actually the second phase of our reach-out programs as we had already conducted symposiums on the negative effects of illegal drugs in all the secondary schools in the town,” Candelario said.

Candelario said the program is focued on preventive measures even though the case of illegal drugs among minors in the town is “not alarming.”

Some members of the Mangaldan station will serve as coaches while others will play with and against third year high school students of Mangaldan National High School.
