JC-DAGUPEÑO of Dagupan City has truly beaten the feat when it was adjudged as this year’s champ in the first Beat the Feat Bangus Festival Hip-Hop Dance Contest held at the parking area of CSI Market Square last April 13.

The team beat 16 other dance groups from Infanta, Bani, Sta. Barbara and Urdaneta City and banged the stage with their hip hop steps like krumping, harlem shake, jerkin’, liquids and digits, robot or mannequin, turfing, floating, electric boogaloo, popping, locking, crip-walking, and b-boying or breaking.

The dance contest, chaired by City Administrator lawyer Farah Marie G. Decano with lawyer Jocely Ibaan and City Employment and Service Officer Jocelyn Siapno as members, and Roberto A. Aliguin as event coordinator, was in line with the advocacy of Mayor Belen T. Fernandez of promoting culture and arts among the youth.

The other winners were Teens Unlimited Dancer of Bani, Pangasinan as 1st runner-up; UPDC of Dagupan City, 2nd runner-up; Madskills of Urdaneta City, 3rd runner-up; and the North Syndicate of Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan, 4th runner-up.

JC-Dagupeño received P8,000 as cash prize. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th runner-ups received P7,000, P5,000, P3,000, and P1,500, respectively. (CIO)
