LINGAYEN—Heres’ the chance for Pangasinenses to see a wide-array of quality consumer products and services, garden plants, handicrafts and furnitures to choose from under one roof.

These and other promotional exhibits of tourism attractions shape the lively atmosphere of the ongoing 7th Tourism and Trade Expo that awaits Pangasinenses and visitors at the Pangasinan Training and Developement Center (PDTC) here.

Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. said Pangasinenses should take this rare opportunity and visit the annual summer expo that runs from April 11 to May 10.

Dubbed “Aliguas ed Ekonomiya tan Turismo”, the expo — a component activity of Pangasinan Pista’y Dayat celebration — is participated in by at least 120 exhibitors, businessmen and entrepreneurs from Pangasinan and nearby provinces and even as far as Bicol, Cebu, NCR and other regions in the country.

Aside from the food booths, stalls of food catering services are also set up in the area where consumers could spend and try various delicacies while enjoying inside the trade center.  A food strip offering various Pangasinan cuisines and street food is also located at the back of the Veterans’ Memorial Park.

Offices of the provincial government and provincial offices of national government agencies along with towns and cities in the province featuring their One-Town-One-Product (OTOP) also have their respective display booths.

“We see a good beginning in this Tourism and Trade Expo — that we actually see like Baguio City’s session road in bloom,”  said Lynda Bulabos, proprietress of LDB’s Handricrafts Exports from Taytay, Rizal.

Bulabos, a first time participant in the expo, said she had seen “good results in terms of sales from day 1 of the expo” and looks forward to next year’s event.

Helen Alamis, a councilor from Labrador, noted that the expo becomes bigger every year with more exhibitors.

Habang tumatagal, gumaganda at mas lalong dumarami ang mga nagpupunta dito para mamimili lalo na kapag malapit na ang May 1,” she added.

Bugallon resident Regie Bernabe, manager of Regie’s Garden, on the other hand, noted the regular influx of buyers from municipalies and cities in Pangasinan and nearby provinces from 5 p.m. to 12 midnight.

At the exhibit of Bonsai trees and shrubs, visitors can see a distinct blend of nature and art by the best Pangasinense horticulture artists.

A photo exhibit showcasing the highlights of the previous and recent Agew na Pangasinan and Pistay Dayat celebrations and other big events of the province was also unveiled at the PDTC

As a treat to the shoppers and visitors, the provincial govenrnment has also scheduled nightly activities at the PDTC compound. These include: Movie Caravan, Acoustic and Classic Musical Performances, AVP showing, Fiesta sa Nayon, Baili sa Pangasinan, OPM Retro Night, Free Zumba, among others.
