STA. MARIA–The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) called on taxpayers to register, file, and pay before the April 15 deadline to avoid inconvenience and late charges.

Atty. Nasrollah Conding, revenue district officer of BIR-Revenue District Office No. 6, gavethis reminder in a press briefing held at the Eco Park here on Thursday as part of the kick-off program for their tax campaign.

Daisy Pira, officer-in-charge chief of assessment section, said paying taxes is simple following the concept of Register, File and Pay and these can be done online.

Pira explained that the BIR now has the eFPS or Electronic Filing and Payment System for the filing of tax returns, including attachments, and paying taxes through the internet.

“Processes of filing and paying are made convenient by BIR through these web-based services,” Pira said.

Meanwhile, Conding reported that their district office collected P76 million in January 2014, exceeding the collection goal of P74 million, which made them as the No. 1 Collection Performer for that month in Region I. (PIA1-Pangasinan/AMM)
