THE Bangus International Cuisine Cooking Showdown featuring international recipes with the Dagupan bangus as main fare will be held on April 28 at the CSI Stadia  as one of the  highlights of the Bangus Festival 2014.

Different restaurants, schools, international students and the German, Indian and Japanese communities in the city have already confirmed their participation to the event.

Atty. Gonzalo Duque, the event chairman, said the cookfest will be graced by ambassadors and consuls to give them the opportunity to appreciate the Dagupan bangus  and promote this as a recipe in their respective countries.

Duque said to ensure the success of the event, there will be a dry-run on March 21 at the Le Duc Hotel to be attended by Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Jose Brillantes as special guest.

Also invited are local dignitaries, including celebrity chef and host of GMA 7’s cooking show Kusina Master, Chef Boy Logro, who will hold  a cooking demo.

The recipes of the participants will also be checked by the Assessment Committee to ensure that no same recipes will be cooked.

During the event, the participants will wear native costumes and will decorate their booths in accordance with the color and style of their respective countries.
