10,000 kilos of bangus to be grilled simultaneously

MAYOR Belen T. Fernandez has increased to 10 kilos the volume of bangus that will be grilled per individual or group participating in the penultimate event of the Dagupan Bangus Festival 2014, the Bangusan Street Party on April 30 to be held along the De Venecia Highway.

Dr. Edwin Aguirre, Bangusan Street Party coordinator, said the original plan was to distribute only five kilos of bangus per person or group that bought grills from the festival’s executive committee at P2,500 per grill.

But Fernandez increased this to 10 kilos for the same price of P2,500 per grill under one package and the buyer of the grill will be given not only the grill  but also charcoal, tong, chef’s hat, apron, salt  and other items.

This year’s street party has allocated 1,000 grills spaced at one meter per grill starting in front of Jacobo Restaurant up to the back of the parking area of CSI the City Mall or a distance of some three kilometers.

“We will be using new grills and if they get two grills we will provide them with one tent to protect them from the rain if in case it rains,” said Aguirre.

Eight stages will be set up along Jose R. De Venecia Expressway where different artists and bands will be performing live to entertain the audience.

No grill will be set up along the New Pantal Bridge.
