THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will hold a “Diskwento Caravan” at the Amado T. Espino Jr. Covered Court in Aguilar town on September 1 as a disaster-response activity for victims of Typhoon Maring and the monsoon rains.

Director Peter Mangabat of DTI-Pangasinan said the one-day sale aims to help typhoon-affected families as it offers different basic products marked down by as much as 20 percent.

“There are a lot of freebies too since manufacturers from Manila and other big suppliers will join the activity,” he said.

The Diskwento Caravan will be replicated in other areas devastated by the recent calamity.

Some of the firms joining the Diskwento Caravan include Gardenia Bakeries, Century Pacific Group, Magic Sales, Granville, Addessa Corporation and the National Food Authority-Western Pangasinan. (PIA1-Pangasinan/AMM)
