Wife shot by husband during spat

SAN CARLOS CITY—A man might have successfully ended a heated argument with his wife by shooting her only to find out that he will have to continue arguing but this time before a judge who will decide how many years he will have to spend in jail.

A housewife was hospitalized after she was shot by her husband during an argument in their house in Barangay Agdao before noon of June 6.

Jesusa De Vera, 26, told the police her husband Jonathan De Vera fired at her following their heated argument over financial matters.

The victim was rushed to the nearest hospital for medical treatment while the suspect was arrested by responding policemen of the San Carlos City Police Station.

Recovered from the crime scene was one empty shell of Cal 38 with one live ammunition on its cylinder, which has been submitted for ballistic examination.

A case for Frustrated Parricide and Violation of the Comelec Gun Ban was filed against the suspect.
