CONSTANT champion Maasin basketball team is on the road again to the semifinals by scoring seven wins with one defeat to seize the lead in the 19 year old and below category of the 2013 Mangaldan SK Inter-Barangay Basketball Tournament elimination round being held at Macario Ydia Development Center in Mangaldan.

Former frontrunner Barangay Malabago slid to fourth place after suffering two straight defeats in their last two outings and now toting a card of five wins and two losses after bowing to barangay Buenlag, 82-75, on April 7 and barangay Anolid, 80-61, on April 10. Barangay Buenlag, which was defeated by Maasin, 85-90, cards the same record with the latter and was relegated to second place due to the win-over the-other system FIBA ruling being Implemented by the organizers.

Barangay Anolid occupies the third position with six wins and a lone failure. The top two finishers after the elimination will enjoy the twice-to-beat advantage for the semis. The third to sixth placers will battle with each other and the best two will qualify for the semis where they will face the elimination round top two finishers.–JAGJr.
