THE raging Buenlag team proved to be a real title contender by scoring a come-from-behind 84-82 victory over the furious Gueguesangen squad on April 15 to top the Mangaldan Inter-Barangay Basketball Tournament elimination round being held at the Macario Ydia Development Center in Mangaldan.

Buenlag also defeated Navaluan, Salaan and Salay through defaults in their succeeding games, and now toting a card of 11 eleven wins with single defeat.

Erstwhile frontrunner Maasin slid to fourth after enduring two humiliating consecutive losses to Anolid and Gueguesangen, 68-83, and 42-79, respectively, carding eight wins and four defeats.

Malabago improved to third from fourth, 10-2, and Anolid stays at second with the same record as Buenlag but failed to top the elims for being beaten by Buenlag, 82-89, on March 23.

Buenlag and Anolid enjoy the twice-to-beat edge in the semi-finals while Malabago, Maasin, Gueguesangen and Poblacion fight for each other for the two remaining slots for the semis.–JAG Jr.
