Governor Amado Espino Jr. recently signed a memorandum of agreement with the PRISAA represented by its president, Atty. Gonzalo T. Duque for the official hosting of the prestigious annual national sports event.

The national games expect some 6,000 athletes, coaches, and game officials from the 17 regions of the country to participate in 18 sports, namely: athletics, basketball, badminton, sepak takraw, beach volleyball, baseball, softball, volleyball, football, boxing, chess, karate-do, judo, dance sports, lawn tennis, table tennis and swimming.

Atty. Verna Perez, the SP secretary, said a series of consultation meetings between the provincial government and the organizers have already been undertaken to discuss details for the staging of the sporting event, considered the longest-running games in the collegiate level.

The event is held in cooperation with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) – Region 1, PRISAA member schools in Region 1 and Department of Education through Schools Divisions of Pangasinan 1 and City of Dagupan.– Johanne R. Macob
