LAOAC– This small town will host the second provincial bicycle road race of the year on March 4 as a n activity of the celebration of its town fiesta.

The bikefest, dubbed ‘Laoac Cycling Challenge 2013”, will be ran in two categories, amateur and executive-master divisions and is expected to attract some 60 amateur and ex-professional cyclists.

It will start across the town’s public market at 11:00 a.m., traverse thrice the areas of Manaoag (Pau junction), Pozorrubio and Binalonan, and finish at the starting point with an approximate distance of 85 kilometers.

“We are holding the annual affair as our contribution to the province’ development of cycling” said Mayor Silverio Alarcio, adding, “We believe that like in the past where we already produced two Tour champions (Rufino Gabot and Gonzalo Recodos), our young cyclists will be our next champions.”
