Letter from Sen. Alan S. Cayetano

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Pangasinan —

I am heartened by the report I received last week that Pangasinan will soon have its own history written and published. Nothing can make a country or a community prouder of its heritage than by an account of how its people evolved into what it is today.

The creation of your Pangasinan Historical and Cultural Commission two years ago was timely and I salute the men and women who have been appointed to head it. In this regard, I encourage your families who have documents to share about how life was in the early days all the way to pre-Hispanic period to come forward with them to help your commission present a thorough and credible account of the growth and development of Pangasinan.

Only few provinces have succeeded in this effort, so I hope Pangasinan can soon show all Filipinos why Pangasinenses are such a happy and industrious people, truly proud of their heritage.

Sincerely,

Alan
