Farmer nabbed for guns, ammunition

BANI—A farmer was arrested following a raid by the police in his house at 4:45 a.m. on January 22 in Barangay Quinauayanan here where various firearms were also seized.

Elements of the Bani Police Station and the 1stManuever Platoon of the Provincial Public Safety (PPPSC) Company based in Alaminos City raided the house of Metham Veloria, 52.

The raid team, led by Inspector Samuel Arcano and Inspector Kurt Toyokan under the supervision of Superintendent Rhode Espero, came with a Search Warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Renato Pinlac of Branch 57 in San Carlos City.

Confiscated from the house were one Cal. 38 revolver loaded with five live ammunition, 28 live ammunition for Caliber .22 and six live ammunition for Caliber .22 Magnum.

Veloria and the seized items were brought to the PPPSC 1st Manuever Platoon office for investigation and documentation while a case for violation of Presidential Decree No. 1866 as amended by Republic Act Nop. 8294 is being prepared against the suspect.
